the law of divine compensation.

Dialoguing with friends over dinner, our conversation landed on LeBron James’ show ‘The Shop’ which led us into the infinite genius LeBron has and the inspiring setup of his best friends as his business partners. Jay-Z does this too, they both encompass this level of genius and business acumen that is untouchable. They both built businesses, empires actually, that are run by and with the people closest to them. We shared thoughts on the one trait, function, similarity that has one reach this level of success personally and also have the heart and mind to put their friends in position to win. We all agreed that it was confidence, bonafide confidence in one’s ability, purpose and talent. Fast forward I’m home enjoying my favorite day of the week, Sunday. I picked up Marianne Williamson’s The Law of Divine Compensation, I read the book a few years ago and was inspired to revisit after an energetic reading with the hood healer, more on that later… A few pages in and this quote inspired me so much that I reread it three times out loud.

A Course in Miracles teaches us that all of us are special and none of us are special. All of us carry the mark of God, yet we carry that mark as one. No one has any more or less capacity than anyone else to be used as a conduit for the genius that pours forth constantly from the Mind of God. This genius pours into us as one, but is accepted by us separately. God’s greatness is a gift that is offered to all of us, but it’s our choice whether or not to receive it.
We lack faith in what exists within us because we lack faith in Who exists within us.
Each of us has a unique part to play in the healing of the world. Each of us is assigned by God a function that only we can fill. At the level of our divine function, none of us are in competition with each other, for the universe has an infinite number of pieces of pie. My piece doesn’t take away from yours, and yours doesn’t take away from mine. There is space for everyone’s gift to flower. There is more than enough room for all of us. ”
-Marianne Williamson, The Law of Divine Compensation

I would assert that the confidence we spoke of when picking apart the traits that have LeBron as King James and Jay as Hov is spelled out pretty eloquently in this quote from the Law of Divine Compensation. It is the alignment and acceptance of the Mind of God. It is available to all of us but must be accepted separately. There are some that accept early in life, some that accept later in life, and some that choose not to accept at all…

We lack faith in what exists within us because we lack faith in Who exists within us.
